I'm sure you have noticed that there has been some serious blog delinquency going on around here! My apologies! We will rectify the situation as soon as possible!
Here is a bit of what has been going on lately:
-
Why does Benjamin look so gloomy?
I think he misses Daddy!
-
Look what we made today?
It says, "Welcome Home Daddy! We love you -- Mommy, Ada & Benjamin!"
Looks like Daddy's comin' home soon ...-
-
Here's a close up of my artwork!
-
We made this right before we went to pick Daddy up from the airport!
Now look at Benjamin's face ...

So happy to see Daddy again!

How to make pigs in a blanket ...

First, take a bite of a hot dog ...

Then roll it in cheese & dough...
Roll it up all the way so the bite taken out of it won't show ...

Then take it ...

And put it on a cookie sheet to bake...
Note: I did not take bites out of all of these ...
but I would have if Mommy had let me!

Funny Faces

Sometimes Benjamin makes funny faces!
-
-
Sometimes he makes me smile!
-
Sometimes he makes me giggle!
-
And, sometimes, I just want to tickle his toes!

Owl Dress by Mommy

Ada has recently been very excited about owls.
After looking at some jumpers listed on etsy.com I decided could make one myself.
-
I think it turned out pretty cute!

It helps to have such a cute model!
-
Here are a few more pics of the details ...

Front

-
I also made it reversible ...

-
Here is the owl up close!
-
Here is a close-up of the fabric ...
Ada loves the birdies!

Special thanks to Aunt Allene for assisting in fabric choice ...
& to Grammie for lending her sewing machine and expertise!

First Day of "School" (Mom's Morning Out)

As some of you know, I have been very excited about the idea of going to school. Everyday Mommy & I watch the kids on our street get on the school bus in the morning. Last week, while Mommy was making breakfast, I put on my shoes and backpack and announced that I was going to get on the school bus. Believe me, if Mommy hadn't stopped me, I would have been out the door & on the bus with the other kids!

I was very happy today because it was the first day of my "school" also known as Mom's Morning Out. I was so excited this morning that I didn't eat any of my breakfast!
I got my new back-to-school outfit & my Cinderella backpack (thank you Ms. Rachel!)
-
Mommy, on the other hand, was having a hard time adjusting to all of this. After she dropped me off, she cried all the way home! She just can't believe I'm so grown up!

What happened to the cookies?

A new song ...
(to the tune of what do you do with a drunkin' sailor)
...
" Oh, what do you do with a grumpy girlie? (repeat 3x)
Early in the mornin'!"
-
Answer: You make cookies of course!
-
Mommy & I got out some cookie dough ...

Uh-oh! Somehow the cookies look different ...
-
Ah-ha! You caught me!
-
Oops!

Hilarious!
-
So, Mommy rescued the cookies from me & put them in the oven!

We are taking them over to a friends house later ...
at least the ones that still have chips!

Look at my busy little chef!

Now look at how she keeps her kitchen ...

Just in case you say, "Like Mother, Like Daughter" ...
I snapped a picture of my kitchen ...
possibly my favorite room in the house!
