Mommy's Back to School

Mommy couldn't bear to throw away the lovely flowers Daddy got her, but they were getting a very droopy. So, she "repurposed" them in little bowls of water.

They look pretty, don't you think?

We are having Ompah over for a special dinner tonight,

so they will make a nice centerpiece.

-

Mommy is also trying to get some home-maker jobs finished before she starts school in Sept.

First, she is trying different recipes from her Bread Cookbook.

Below is a cranberry ring with a cream cheese filling

and a dusting of powdered sugar.

Mommy wasn't too happy with the lop-sidedness of it,

but it did taste good!

And this is cheddar cheese bread.

Right out of the oven, it is very yummy by itself

or with a little butter.

It also make a great turkey sandwich later.

The other jobs Mommy wants to get done are not so fun...

clean the fridge

weed the flower beds

organize the closets

finish the play room & my room

Mini Cranberry Loaves ... a Silent Picture

Word of the Day

I've been saying some new and funny words this week.

I call my ducky a "Quack-quack!" and I say "Swing-side" which means "Swing, go outside?"

And I've actually started saying some short sentences as well!

For example, when I want a snack I go to the fridge and say, "Cheese Please, Mommy!"

And when Mommy drops something I say, "Uh-oh, that's okay Mommy!"

Or when I want Daddy to lift me up high I say, "UP UP UP Please Daddy!"

Learning to put words together is lots of fun!

Family Fun Night: Pajama Party!

This week for Family Fun Night we invited Grammie, Gramps, and Ompa for a Pajama Party!

We ate waffles, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, and fruit with orange juice, milk, and coffee to drink!

Then we played a game kinda like musical chairs where we all had pillows and we passed them while the music was playing. There were not enough pillows, so one person was left without a pillow when the music stopped. Then we would all throw our pillows at them!

I'll let the pictures speak for themselves...

it quickly devolved into a pillow fight!

I thought it was great fun!

Somehow, Ompa ended up with all the pillows!

It was nice to have some quality time with some of my grandparents!

Grammie is worn out from the pillow fight!

What about me? Well, I am not tired at all! In fact I would like to play again!

Can we start the music please! :)

Daddy brought her some flowers and took her out to dinner.

And it wasn't even a birthday or anniversary.

Isn't that sweet?

Mommy was very excited!

And, the flowers seemed like a good excuse to take pictures of the kitchen!

Here is the kitchen. We haven't done a lot to it yet.

Mommy was going to paint it, but she decided she likes the white walls.

Besides, the kitchen is facing the red accent wall in the living room.

So, at least for now, it is going to stay like this.

Here is the sink and the rack for extra dish towels.

This is the stove which still has pans on it from supper.

Just keeping it real around here!

Here I am reaching for an apple! I love apples,

and I love to say, "Abb-el Bees!" (translation: Apple Please!).

but a few things were allowed in the compromise.

Daddy gave me an apple and then a kiss which made me laugh!
