Family Fun Night: Potty Party

Tonight was Family Fun Night!
I'm pretty excited about it!
That is because we are having a Potty Party to celebrate my accomplishments this week!
-
In honor of going all day without an accident, we had a Party and everything started with a P !!!
We had Pork Chops with Gravy, Mashed Potatoes, Miniture Chocolate Pies, and well, err, um ... green beans because Daddy hates Peas.
Anyway, you get the idea.
-
Oh, and I got a Prize for doing so well on the Potty! Daddy got me a car that is really cool!
And I got to bring my new baby to the table and feed her.
Her name is Potty Patty!
-
And then, right after my Potty Party, I had a big Paccident on the new Pcarpet in our house!
Oops! or should I say "Poops!"
;-)
Anyway, Mommy and Daddy didn't make a big deal about it,
they just cleaned it up.
And, on the plus side, I got a second bath which is always fun!

Then after I had a bath and various other cleaning solutions and sanitizers had been applied to the carpet, we had some fun singing together at the Piano!
haha! Just had to get one more in there!

Warning: If you don't like potty talk, skip this one!

So I was coloring with my crayons today,
... when I got a funny feeling.
So I pushed away from the table and went
and sat on the potty with my new baby.
-

Hmmm... Maybe I'll just sit here a minute and see what happens!
-
After I taste-tested her drink ...
-
... I gave her some.
-
Then my turn was finished (sucessfully) and it was baby's turn to sit on the potty.
And, yes as it so happens, she goes in the potty too!
I found this very exciting!
-
So exciting that I thought maybe some other friends needed a turn on the potty as well!
-
So, I gave everyone a chance to use the potty.
But none of them were really prepared for this.
-
I even gave my bouncy ball a try.
Mommy thought this was hilarious!
-
What? Don't you think everyone should get a turn?
I like to be fair about things.
-
After giving everyone a chance on the potty, I took my baby for a walk.
-

Despit Mommy's protests, I prefer to keep my baby in the nude.
She did come with clothes, I just always take them off of her!
-
Except when it is nap time.
Then I insist that my baby wear her diaper just like I do!
That way we both stay dry while we sleep!

Family Fun Night: Pool-style

This week Family Fun Night ended up on Friday because ...
well, the week just got away from us all!
-
Dinner (for the Foodies out there) was herb mashed potatoes, chicken from the grill, steamed veggies, and homemade garlic bread.
I am personally a big fan of the mashed potatoes and the chunks of grilled chicken. Also, I have discovered a love for green beans so I picked some of those out too!
And I like to lick the butter off of the garlic bread. But then I'm done with them.
-
And then we all three hung out in the pool.
Here is Daddy relaxing and appreciating the fact that Grammie got us a kiddie pool that is seven feet long!
-
I enjoyed splashing around and bouncing with Daddy.
-
Oops! And then I bounced around a little too much!
-
No worries! I don't really care if my face gets wet!
I just keep on playing!
-
And making some pretty funny faces!
-
... like this one...
-
... and especially this one!

Good night everyone!
Thanks for reading!

Tour De House -- Living/Dining Rooms

This table was given to us by a nice family in our church.
And the chairs are borrowed from Grammie and Gramps.
-
The piano is also from Grammie and Gramps.
Everyday Mommy and I play the piano together and sing our way through my book of children's songs. It's really fun, even if my additional notes are not always harmonious!
-
And the painting was painted by my Great-Grandma Phillips.
Mommy found it yesterday packed away in a box of Daddy's old stuff that he had forgotten about. She asked me to be sure and tell Grandma O'Donnell that we have it! :)
-
This is the table where I do my art work.
It belonged to Ompa and GranGran, and now it has been passed down four generations to me!
-

And now we move on to the living area.
This is Mommy's favorite chair to curl up in with a book!
The accent wall is actually a really dark red, but for some reason it looks kinda pinkish here!
-
This is to show you the TV that Daddy got for Fathers' Day/Birthday!
He is very happy about it.
-
I think we will soon be replacing that picture of Aunt Joy's family with a new one!
We need one with Anya in it!
-
Here is the living room at a glance.
The painting over the fireplace belonged to GranGran.
Mommy really loves it.
-
So, that's the installment for today.
Now we seem to be on a roll, so perhaps we will do the kitchen next.
Tune in to see what's hot in the kitchen!

It's My Potty and I'll Cry If I Want To!

Lately, I've been showing a lot of interest in...
the bathroom.
I want to see what goes on in there,
inspect the equipment,
admire the acoustics,
and most of all ...
play in the toilet water!
-
So, Mommy got me a new book this week and I love it!
I like the smiling faces and the colorful flaps.
-

And, she got me my own potty chair yesterday to go with it!
-

So, today we started getting
to know each other, the chair and I!
So far I have done two BM's and one tinkle in the chair.
I'm sorry if this is TMI (too much info) for some of you,
but inquiring minds will want to know.
This whole process is apparently very exciting to my parents
who act like what I have just produced is solid gold!
Each time I go in the potty Mommy and Daddy clap their hands and say, "Yipee!"

-

After each time I go, I carefully put my dolly on to take a turn.
In this picture she kindly demonstrates how to use the chair in case you were wondering.
Mommy didn't think it would be quite suitable to take pictures of me on the chair.
I think when I am about 15 I will probably appreciate this!
-

And in other news,
I entertained my parents for hours the other night by dancing around in Daddy's hat!
-

Don't I have the rapper look down pretty well?
Wuzzup Ya'll!!! :)

Tour de House at long last!

Update added in the morning: This picture is to show you what the green paint really looks like.
Here I am telling Daddy all the reasons why he should get up early with me!
-

As you can see, I was not successful!
-
***
Original Post
My Mommy finally climbed out from under the evil pile of laundry that had attacked the bedroom and got some pictures so Tour de House could continue!

Here is the dresser that we found for free.
The mirror was a gift from the guys who sold us the house.
(It was used for staging.)
These double doors lead to the back deck.
-

Mommy apparently bought these vases in China and then put them in a box and completely forgot about them until recently when she discovered them again!
-
Here is Ompa's bed which he so kindly let us borrow.
And the bedside table that Mommy made in high school.
Don't look too closely, you might see one of the legs leaning a bit! ;)
-
*Disclaimer: These pictures were taken at night with the flash therefore the green looks really bright which it truly is not. See pictures above.
-
Whew! That was a lot of waiting for such a short post.
I promise to do a better job of keeping things interesting around here! :)

How could I forget ... Daddy's Birthday Pictures!

Last Tuesday was Daddy's birthday!
So we celebrated with a party and his favorite game.
-

It was a lot of fun, but I'm not sure why Patrick is making that silly face.
-

We had his favorite foods -- fajitas and corn casserole.
-
Thanks to everyone for the birthday gifts!
He got some birthday money that he is enjoying very much as well as every imaginable peice of grilling equipment possible!
-
Mommy was a bit disappointed at the unimpressive look of these lemon curd cupcakes with raspberry filling, but they were very yummy!
We also had a mocha mountain, but it got eaten so quickly that there are no pictures of it!
-
Happy Birthday Daddy -- We love you!

Foodie Fear Factor

As some of you know my Mommy has a long list of things that she wants to learn to do like knit a baby hat, use a pottery wheel, make a quilt etc. One of the things she has wanted to master for a long time, but been very nervous about, is making yeast breads. Somehow all of the rising and kneading and punching-down seemed a bit overwhelming.
-
Recently, Aunt Allene gave her this book called Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day.
So, Mommy has finally faced her fears and started making yeast bread from scratch.
With this method it is actually pretty simple, and it is really good too.
-

She managed to make several loaves last week, with my help naturally! I sit beside her on the counter and make fun designs in the flour that gets everywhere! It is lots of fun! So far she has made sourdogh, baguettes, flat bread, and garlic and herb bread
-
... and blueberry bread which is my favorite so far!

Next she is going to try a rosemary ring.
This make take several attempts because it looks a bit complicated...
If it looks at all decent she will take some pictures.
-
Also, Mommy FINALLY conquered the terribly embarresing pile of laundry - odds and ends -half-unpacked suitcases - who knows what else that had accumulated in one corner of the bedroom! Which means that Tour de House will continue with more pictures later on today!
Unfortunately, it is proving to be longer and more grueling than Tour de France!
But, the next pictures will be great!
Don't miss it!

Chillin' at the Pool

This is just to let you know that we did get the pool set up.
Thanks to an electric pump from Aunt Allene.
I know I'm making a funny face here, but trust me, I LOVED it!
More pool photos will follow!

Also: A new installment of Tour de House is in the works! Stay tuned!

Family Fun Night: Dinner & a Show

First, the dinner...
Daddy grilled us some wonderful asian sesame pork chops,
and Mommy made veggie stir-fry and spring rolls.
-
For dessert we had wonderful fresh figs and blueberries from our own backyard!
-
Mommy made them into a fruit pizza too!
-
Then Daddy and I put on a show on the slip-n-slide!
-
It was hilarious!
-
The original plan was to play in the pool Grammie got for us.
Unfortunately, after a trying to blow it up with a bike pump for a long time, Mommy and Daddy gave up and set up the slip-n-slide instead!
-
But it proved to be a lot of fun for all three of us anyway!
I made lots of funny faces when I went down the slide!
